Our Club Story

Who We Are

Rotary Clubs are active all over the world, working to improve the lives of people through education, clean water access, medical care, environmental initiatives and more!

Our club started as a satellite club in 2021 thanks to sponsorship from the Rotary Club of Mauldin. We rapidly grew to 20 members and decided to branch out as an independent club. We received our charter in  2022 and since then we have increased our presence and membership through active engagement in and with the  community of Greer.

Our club demographics include an fairly equal balance of women and men, retirees and people in the workforce, AND our average age is getting younger! Join us and be a part of something greater than yourself!

We meet 1st & 3rd Tuesdays at 5:30 PM upstairs in the Cartwright Food Hall. Please contact us to schedule a visit at our next meeting!

For me, Rotary is about service, connection, and community. It’s a chance to make a real impact—together—doing more than I ever could alone. What sets our club apart is the camaraderie. There’s a sense of purpose and support here that’s truly unique, and it’s what makes being a Rotarian so meaningful.

My first brush with Rotary was a big one. I was selected to represent my hometown (and its Rotary club) as an exchange student to Sweden in 1976-77.  It was a transformational experience and Rotary has held a special place in my heart since. Giving back has always been important to me. To be able to do so in my new home, while getting to know like-minded folks, it just made sense.  I’m proud of my association with Rotary, going all the way back almost 50 years, and I feel privileged to be a member of the Roary Club of Greer.

For me, Rotary represents a shared commitment to service, integrity, and global impact.  The connection with like-minded people creates a positive and fun environment I enjoy being involved in.  I love giving back to the community I call home. I believe in Rotary.

I originally joined for the fellowship but quickly learned about the service aspect. In my first Rotary club, our signature event was called Tree of Joy. Each year about 25 children were taken to Target where they were given $150 to buy clothes. After they were done, they were given $25 to buy something fun. The joy and gratitude you saw on their faces was priceless. I have been hooked ever since.

I joined Rotary because I was looking for a place where service and friendship come together. Rotary connects me with people who share the same values of giving back, and the fellowship I’ve found here has become just as rewarding as the projects we do.

Joining the Rotary Club felt a little like the first day at a new school. Everyone knew each other and I was new and a little reserved. Well, our members put me right at ease. They were friendly, fun, and committed to service above self. As I got involved, I found a place for myself within the club and am looking forward to an exciting year!

Being part of the Rotary Club of Greer has given me a true sense of community. It’s been inspiring to connect with like-minded individuals who are eager to support meaningful service projects. It has been impressive to see the club’s rapid growth and the positive impact the club has made in our community. It’s amazing to know there are Rotary Clubs across the world working toward similar goals and fostering that same sense of community.

Back in the ‘90s, I worked for a local college that would have employees join various civic clubs. I was directed to one of the Rotary clubs in our area and at that time, I knew nothing about Rotary but soon found that the organization truly lives the motto, “Service Above Self”.

I joined the Rotary Club of Greer to meet new people outside of my industry, to network, also to volunteer and give back to my community that I live in. I have accomplished all that I had set out to do and I couldn't be happier that I found this wonderful group of people that work so well together.  I'm thankful to be a part of the Rotary Club of Greer and I look forward to meeting more people, serving in our community needs as often as possible and building relationships both in our group and with the people we serve.

I love Rotary because it makes it easy to want to do good for the community. Being apart of a group of service driven people pushes me to be a better version of myself.
